AUBURN, N.Y. (August 13, 2025) – Tonight, The REV Theatre Company opens a lavish new production of Irving Berlin’s “Top Hat.” The production runs through September 2 at Auburn’s historic Merry-Go-Round Playhouse.

Packed full of Irving Berlin’s greatest hits, including ”Cheek to Cheek,” “Top Hat, White Tie & Tails,” “Let’s Face the Music & Dance,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Top Hat” brings to the stage one of the greatest dance musicals of all time. Combining the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, “Top Hat” is a musical comedy that will delight and entertain young and old alike.

“Top Hat” is directed and choreographed by Patrick O’Neill (Broadway as Associate: “School of Rock,” “The Heart of Rock and Roll,” and “Ever After”). Music direction is by Ryan O’Connell (Broadway: “Smash!”). The Associate Choreographer is Kelly Sheehan (Broadway: “White Christmas” and “42nd Street”) and the Assistant Music Director is Ben Kapilow.

Additional members of the “Top Hat” creative team include: Scenic Designer Riw Rakkulchon, Lighting Designer José Santiago, Sound Designer Kevin Heard, resident Costume Designer Tiffany Howard, Hair & Makeup Designer Mary Tyler, and resident Props Designer Marshall Pope. The Production Stage Manager is Nick Alteri with Assistant Stage Managers Mollie Heil and Morgan Benford. The Casting Director for The REV’s 2025 season is Megan Larche Dominick, CSA.

“Top Hat” stars Drew Redington as Jerry Travers and Kaitlyn Davidson as Dale Tremont, with Michael Di Liberto as Bates, Erik Gratton as Horace Hardwick, Matthew Schatz as Alberto Beddini, and Laura Beth Wells as Madge Hardwick. The “Top Hat” ensemble features (in alphabetical order) Kailee Regan Brandt, Kaitie Buckert, Elena Doyno, Courtney Echols, Chase Fontenot, Jacob Higdon, Sophia Hillman, Stephen C. Kallas, Gabriel Kearns, Nathaniel Mahone, Greg Sim, and Griffin Wilkins. Kyle Adkins is the production’s swing.

With music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by Matthew White and Howard Jacques, “Top Hat” is based on the Screenplay by Dwight Taylor & Allan Scott. Presented by Arrangement with RKO Pictures LLC, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures Inc. and the Irving Berlin Music Company. Originally Produced on the West End Stage by Kenneth H. Wax.
